A little bit about me
My name is Paul Phelan, a UK based Freelance Graphic Design consultant and founder of thisispworks. On this website you will find examples of my work, background, the services I provide and my blog, where I offer advice and share with others subjects that interest me.
Background
I love what I do and have been passionate about Graphic Design since leaving school. I landed my first Graphic Design role in 1997 after finishing college, from there my obsession with Graphic Design continued.
I studied Graphic Design and Communication in 2000 at Sheffield Hallam Norton Centre and graduated in 2002. Since then I have had the pleasure of working for some great companies and gained a wealth of experience in the process.
In 2009 I was asked to collaborate on a few design projects for print and web, at which point I decided to focus on a Freelance career.
How I work
My role is about digging deep, listening, sharing ideas and producing quality design. I am straight talking about what I do and encourage creative, outside of the box thinking; lets look at the bigger picture.
I belive in building strong designer/customer friendships, in turn this helps not only build a true picture of my customer but also provides the core foundations when creating and developing any brand.
I am a consultant who will manage projects from start to finish and collaborate with independent web developers, SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) advisors and creative professionals alike. No matter what the brief calls for I will make every effort to ensure all client objectives are professionally met, on time, on budget and to the highest standard.
